This program will provide pastors, laypersons, family members and community leaders with the tools needed to assist in the identification of potential problems with addictions, and mental health issues. The curriculum offers clinical and spiritual insight into the emotional and physical suffering that threatens the wellness of the church, the family, and the community. Upon completion the participants will possess the basic skills and working knowledge necessary for identifying and assessing mental health challenges; substance abuse, addiction, depression, grief, and trauma. The participants will have an improved understanding of how clinical and spiritual issues impact mental health challenges. The experiential component of the training will include defining core competencies and treatment modalities, and attending an addiction recovery group meeting.
This seminar is designed for both The Faith Community Leadership and Clinicians whose lives are devoted to helping the people of our present-day society whose lives are spewed along the landscape of life. Ongoing unresolved grief, mourning and losses of every genre, are compounded by daily manipulative negative and toxic voices that cause an already broken-hearted, confused world to fall deeper into a dazed, depressed and dangerous spiral. This seminar will address many of the malignant anxiety causing phobias that plague our society. Research suggests that negative life events, negative thinking and mental health conditions can be linked to suicidal and attempts.
